Air Components Tips
To restore an A/C system after a compressor failure, and to maintain most manufacturer?s warranties on New Compressors, be sure to follow these steps:

Replace the accumulator / rec-drier
Replace the orifice tube / expansion valve.
Replace hose assemblies containing mufflers.
Perform a complete A/C system flush.
Check condenser*.
  
 
 
The most common failure of replacement compressors is foreign material from a previously failed compressor.
 
The system must be flushed and parts that cannot be flushed must be replaced.
 
If debris remain, the system will clog and starve the replacement compressor of refrigerant and lubricant, causing it to also fail.
 
*On many applications built after 1994, the condenser cannot be thoroughly flushed of debris and contaminants and should be replaced.
